A visit to Petershams Nurseries is a must when in London on a short visit. If you are here longer I recommend a full-day trip to their origin place in Richmond, but for a city escape: the Covent Garden location will do just fine.
Experience country elements in a festive spirit, surrounding a floral court with dining and delicatessen combined with a Shop and Florists. Doesn’t it sound good? I don’t think it can get better than that.
I recommend taking a stroll around the store to get in the mood for a cosy time. Right now it’s all about Christmas decorations. And us Danes do like some ‘hygge’ this time a year. When in the mood for something more, continue to La Goccia or The Petersham for a dine and wine. If you are craving something less fancy and even a hot chocolate will do – I recommend crossing the courtyard, which is connecting the Shop, Florist, Delicatessen and Cellar with the Petersham and La Goccia. This central courtyard captures the unique spirit of the countryside business in its new home in Covent Garden. Then, enter the Delicatessen and grab a delicious cake and a hot drink to continue in the festive, but cosy spirit.
This place is popular, so as any other wonderful, but a yet crowded place in London, I recommend trying to be an early bird or stop by during the week. If you’re not afraid of a crowd, the people add to the lovely experience anyway. That’s a part of hygge at Petersham Nurseries.
